Melinda Carpenter’s Trip

Dear family and friends, ​Recently I was extended an amazing opportunity to go on a mission trip to Chaing Mai, Thailand with Biltmore Church from March 17-27, 2019. While on this mission trip, our team will be working with full-time missionary families stationed South Asia through the International Mission Board. Many of these families have been serving faithfully for years and have raised their children in missionary environments, and have often went without any sort of break. My role specifically will be working on a children’s ministry team. ​On the children’s team, we will be hosting a Vacation Bible School for missionary children. Most of these children have never been able to experience anything like Vacation Bible School. I know for me personally, events like Vacation Bible School helped shape who I am today. Many of these families have never been able to worship to songs in English in years, or for some, ever. Seeing the impact that music has had on me, I could not even fathom existing without music, especially worship music, in my primary language. ​I am very blessed and beyond excited to seize this opportunity and to see what God is doing in my own life, and what He will do in the lives of those we will be ministering to. However, with these types of mission trips, I do require the help of my family and friends to support me. First, I strongly desire your prayers; prayer for safety, health, and for life-change to happen. Secondly, I need help with raising funds to go. With a trip to this extent, it requires $2,500 to cover the cost of food, housing, and travel. These funds will need to be raised by March 1, 2019.
